There are just 100 days until the kick-off of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and today hundreds of football
fans united in Sydney to celebrate the milestone for the global event.

As excitement is building for the world’s largest women’s sporting event, the world will converge on Sydney come July and August, with 11 of the record 64 matches taking place in the Harbour City.

The Matildas take on the Republic of Ireland on 20 July, marking the opening day of the first-ever co-hosted FIFA Women’s World Cup where 32 nations will compete for the championship trophy – the most federations ever represented.

Today was also the launch of the official chant of the tournament, the Unity Beat, which will unite supporters
around the world during the event and form part of the match day experience.

“It's 100 days until arguably the biggest women’s sporting event on the world stage," Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Women said.

“I’m excited to see our superstars on the world stage, inspiring the next generation of female athletes.”

FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 COO Jane Fernandez said the entire football community was as excited as ever to experience the biggest and greatest ever women’s football
